Sponge Cake

Serves:                   1 Cake

Preparation Time:     20 minutes

Cooking Time:         40 minutes 

Ingredients

200g Margarine

200g Caster Sugar

4 eggs

200g self Raising Flour (or remove 3 tablespoons of flour and replace with cocoa powder for chocolate cake)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 1800C

  2. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy

  3. Add Beaten egg a little at a time, beating well between each addition

  4. Sieve flour(/cocoa) and fold in gently

  5. Divide mixture equally between 2 greased baking tins

  6. Bake at 1800C for 40mins until a knife comes out clean when inserted into cake.

  7. Decorate with anything you fancy
