Homemade bread

Key notes

Serves:                   2 Large loaves

Preparation Time:     4 hours

Cooking Time:         40 minutes

Ingredients

1kg Bread Flour (What ever you fancy: wholemeal/ white- I tend to use 75% white 25% wholemeal)

1 teaspoons Low salt

3 teaspoons yeast

1.1 pts water

2 Standard sized bread tins

Method

  1. Mix bread flour, salt, and yeast in large mixing bowl. Make well in centre

  2. Warm up water until luke warm and pour into well

  3. Mix together in bowl

  4. Turn out onto clean, floured surface and knead.

  5. Put back in bowl and cover with damp teatowel. Let it rise until reaches the top of the bowl (approximately 1 1/2 hours)

  6. Knock it back and place in greased bread tins (or on greased baking tray)- should come halfway up both tins

  7. Cover with damp teatowel

  8. Let it rise to the top of the tin (1 1/2- 2 hours)

  9. Preheat Oven to 180 oC

  10. Rolls- cook for 25mins

  11. Loaves- cook for 40 mins then turn off oven remove from tin and leave in warm oven for 10 minutes.
