Ingredients
50g Margarine
200g self raising flour
Pinch of salt
125mls milk
1 medium sized cooking apple
50g caster sugar
1 level teaspn baking powder
25g Demerara sugar
Method

Preheat oven to 2000C

Peel, core and finely chop apple

Sieve flour, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl, rub in fat using fingers

Add sugar and apple

Stir in most of milk (not all), mixture should be fairly soft not sticky

Flour table and knead lightly, press to 2cm thick

Cut out 5cm circles, place on baking tray

Brush with milk and sprinkle with demerara, and bake for 20-25 mins
